Shootouts turn a contest into a dive trip: everyone shoots the same reefs within a fixed window, usually a weekend or a few days, and submits straight afterwards. Most are run by dive resorts, tourism boards or national federations, and the camaraderie is half the point.
Because you shoot on site, the event dates matter as much as the deadline — book dives and flights early, and check whether the organiser expects you to stay at a partner resort.
